Striving to live up to his fathers legacy, Dieudonne is on a mission to bring his tribe’s music from the village and onto the stages in Europe with his best friends from his band.
In a politically vibrant Mali, music is becoming more important than ever. It is through the songs a story of a strong, resilient people has been told for centuries. Dieudonne's father was the first to translate the traditional songs to contemporary instruments and bring the stories of the tribe into the present. After his death, the tribe looks to Dieudonne as the big hope for carrying the music and his fathers legacy into the future.
As he travels between rituals in the village, a rock ‘n roll lifestyle in Bamako and on tour in rural Denmark, he dreams of a brighter future for himself and his people. One that would make his father proud.
